I just noticed this is a common problem for some days now. Blackberry users, especially on OS 6.0 are having problems with their Appworld they dont seem to find their appworld icon. This usually starts after carrying out an upgrade of their Blackberry Appworld application. If you are facing this same problem, there is a solution to you but note that upgrading your Appworld is not the only cause, you just have to troubleshoot to find the problem but you should try the one Im going to recommend first because its usually the cause.
I have been able to solve a number of this same issue by checking the OS version of the phones in question and I found out that their OS were not compatible with the version of Appworld. I blame RIM for this, they shouldnt have brought the update for them in the first place when you know that it would never be compatible with their devices OS.
Suggestion 1: If you have just upgraded your Blackberry Appworld and the icon disappears after, you should first try to restart your phone because the icon would never show up without restarting your Blackberry. This should normally be the problem but in some cases like Ive seen recently, it doesnt solve it and you might want check the next suggestion.
Suggestion 2: According to RIM, BlackBerry OS versions prior to 6.0.0.706 do not support AppWorld 4.0.0.55 and hence Appworld icon would not show up if you have installed that version of Appworld on OS versions prior to 6.0.0.706. What you have to do now is to check the version of your OS by going to Options > About on your Blackberry. If it is a version prior to the one mentioned above and you have installed Appworld 4.0.0.55 (check this by going to Options > Applications), then follow the steps below.
1. Open the BlackBerry Native Browser on the BlackBerry SPAM IS BLOCK BY GURUSLOADED.COMphone.
2. Go to http://mobileapps.blackberr devicesoftware/entry.do? code=appworld3
3. After download, please restart your BlackBerry SPAM IS BLOCK BY GURUSLOADED.COMphone when prompted.
4. Verify that BlackBerry App World is located on the home screen.
That should solve the problem but if it doesnt, make sure the icon is hidden. Click Options button on the home screen and click Show All, if it doesnt appear, open every folder and try to use the Show all method.
